Why is a Hair Transplant a Good Choice For Receding Hairline?

Hair receding happens because of androgenetic alopecia (or male pattern hair loss) this hair loss is seen in both males and females. In most cases, this hair loss is seen in men.

androgenetic alopecia increases the production of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) in our body. Which blocks the hair follicles\’ pores because of it the essential nutrition does not meet up with hair follicles which causes permanent hair loss.

Types of Procedures

There are two types of hair transplants available for receding hairlines. Both of them have good results. These procedures are the most common permanent solutions to receding hairline in India.

FUT

In Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), a team of doctors removes a part of the skin from the scalp, from the back and side of the head. The size of the scalp skin depends of no. of hair follicles required for covering the blad area. Once the hair follicles are removed they are placed on the bald area. Normally the skin size does not exceed more than 1-1.5 cm other it causes scarring. This process takes up 4-6 hours depending on the mo. of graft used for hair transplant.

Some Advantages of FUT

  • Natural look: Both Fut and Fue have a natural hair look no one will notice the change.
  • The procedure is been used for more than a decade. Fue is one of the trusted procedures, surgeons have good hands-on experience with this technique. This technique is considered more reliance and trustful
  • Cheaper than others: FUT is 20-25% cheaper than Fue and other techniques. Because it doesn\’t require any fancy machine

Some Disadvantages of FUT

  • More chances of scarring: this is a traditional technique, and has more chances of linear scarring which can be visible on short hair. You need to wear long hair to hide the scarring.
  • More pain and discomfort: The recovery period of FUT has more pain and discomfort as compared to other techniques. Swelling, a little bleeding, itching, and redness are the common issues in it.
  • Longer recovery time: The future technique takes a longer duration to complete

FUE

In FUE (follicular unit extraction), A team of doctors removes hair follicles from the back of the head. This area will heal after a couple of days and be covered with some hairs and placed in the bald area. In the harvest process, the team the doctors carefully places each graft on the head. This process takes 6-8 hours, depending on your no. of grafts.

Some Advantages of FUE

  • More advanced: Fue techniques are more advanced, this technique has more chances of success than fut. The success rate can go within 90-95% and with the robotic fue technique it can go 100%.
  • Apply on hair scalp area: This means the procedure is used to place hair not only head but also in non-scalp areas such as the beard, and chest.
  • FUE has a low chance of infection: FUE is considered to be a modern technique and has less chance of any infection as compared to other methods such as fut.

Some Disadvantages of FUE

  • Small scarring: In any surgery, there is always a chance of scarring. The FUE technique also leaves scarring on the donor area. But that will be hidden with the help of hairs.
  • Time taking: In fue technique, it takes usually 6-7 months to get your hair completely back. This period is very tense for the patients who are waiting for their hair.
